BCB Lacquers: Princess Quad & December Gemstone

*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*

Hello hello! Today I have a quick swatch and review of upcoming releases for BCB Lacquers. Releasing Friday, November 19 at 6pm ET on the BCB Lacquers site is the Princess Quad and the December gemstone, Zircon. Polishes in the Princess Quad will retail for $13 individually or $45 as a set, and Zircon will be available for $12. This is the final gemstone polish, and any remaining gemstone polishes on the site will not be restocked!

I think that’s it for the details, so let’s get into it!

Princess Quad

Jane

Jane is described as a a jade green polish with a green to gold to pink to blue shifting shimmer.

Jane had a very smooth and shimmery formula. The polish dries with less visible brush strokes, and I was surprised by how much I liked this green – I thought it was quite flattering on my skin tone.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Esmerelda

Esmerelda is described as a turquoise leaning blue polish with a soft teal/purple shifting shimmer, teal micro flakes and purple/blue/green shifting flakies.

Esmerelda had a jelly-like formula, with the flakes lying nice and flat. The base is somewhat sheer so I recommend building it up in three coats. The polish is also a bit more teal-leaning than in my photos.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Megara

Megara is described as an indigo polish with a strong red/gold shifting shimmer, purple/red/orange/gold shifting flakes and holo.

The flakes in Megara lie flat and even, and they also come out well. Megara’s base is more jelly-like so it’s slightly thicker, and I thought the polish deepened a lot at three coats. The tone here is a bit more red/warmer purple than in my swatches.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Kida

Kida is described as a smokey blue polish with a teal/gold/blue shifting shimmer, lavender micro flakes and holo.

Kida had a very smooth but slightly thicker formula. Like Jane, the brush strokes disappear when dry.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

December Gemstone

Zircon

Zircon is described as a teal leaning blue jelly with blue iridescent flakes, holo micro shreds, large silver platinum flakes, holo hex glitters and blue shimmer.

Zircon had a jelly base that stays where it goes and doesn’t pool. There was a medium to light density of flakes, and I recommend building the polish up in thinner coats. The tone of the polish is also a bit more teal than in my photos.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Let me know if you’ll be picking any of these beauties up – I think they’re perfect for the winter months! Thanks for reading.

XOXO,

Lauren
