Hello! Today I have a quick swatch and review of the Jen & Berries polish for the Little Box of Horrors July shop. The Little Box of Horrors shop goes live for preorder on July 18, and will remain open until July 30. The theme for this month was the movie The Lost Boys, and Jenny from Jen & Berries created an absolutely gorgeous polish for it. Let’s get into it!
Jen & Berries: Initiation’s Over
Initiation’s Over is described as a violet polish with a pink/gold/green shifting shimmer and holographic flakies. It is inspired by The Lost Boys and summer camping horror.
I tried to capture as many shifts as I could, but there were definitely more that I discovered after I was done taking swatch photos. I’ll note that I completely forgot to capture the gold/green shift that comes out, because it wasn’t as apparent to me until I started moving around in other parts of my house (after which it was super noticeable).
The base is quite jelly-like, and the formula is really smooth and not too thick or thin. I think two coats builds up the color pretty well, but three coats made the color much more vibrant and deep. I thought the polish made my nails look like a galaxy.
In general, the polish leans a bit warmer than in my photos, although this may differ across different screens. The polish doesn’t dry with any texture.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
