Hello! I’m barely making it in the nick of time, but I’m super excited to be sharing the Bees Knees Lacquer Empire of the Vampire collection, or their Black Friday release!
The Bees Knees Lacquer Black Friday sale will start at noon ET on Friday, November 26 on the Bees Knees Lacquer site. This sale will coincide with the launch of the Empire of the Vampire collection, in addition to a long list of respawns and a few new mysteries as well. Many of the polishes available will be capped due to a bottle shortage, but they will be available as respawns in the future. BKL’s Orange You Glad To Be Here custom, Edith the Witch, will also be released then – be sure to join the Orange You Glad To Be Here Facebook group to get the polish’s secret link!
There will be a 25% off sitewide sale, excluding UP polishes. Other discount codes will be deactivated during this time due to this sale.
There’s a lot of polishes to get through, so let’s jump right in!
Empire of the Vampire Collection
Liathe
Liathe is described as a deep aubergine purple with red to green UP and ghost flakes.
Liathe had a slightly streaky base at first, and the flakes blend in with base a lot (likely because they’re ghost flakes, which appear contrastingly in certain lights). It had a slightly lighter formula, and I recommend building the polish up in three coats to deepen the base.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Liathe will be available for $15 and capped at 200.
All Shall Kneel (Cyber Monday LE)
All Shall Kneel is described as an oxblood polish with glowy red to green iridescent flakes.
All Shall Kneel had a slightly thicker jelly base that’s sheer, and the flakes in the polish came out with medium density.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
All Shall Kneel will be available for $12.50 and capped at 200.
Wretched
Wretched is described as a a deep raspberry pastel multichrome that shifts to purple and blue with black to red multichrome microflakes.
Wretched had a jelly-like base so the formula was slightly thicker. I had some visible nail line at two coats, so I went for three.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Wretched will be available for $13 and capped at 300.
The Forever King
The Forever King is described as a rusty burgundy with green to blue sibling UP.
The Forever King had a smooth but slightly light/sheer jelly base. The shifts from the sibling UP are more visible in person than in photos.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
The Forever King will be available for $15 and capped at 200.
Faekin
Faekin is described as a green pastel multichrome that shifts red to olive with black to red multichrome microflakes.
Faekin had a smooth, slightly lighter formula. Its flakes were very even and flat with high density.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Faekin will be available for $13 and capped at 200.
Empress of Wolves and Men
Empress of Wolves and Men is described as a silver to pink to green pastel multichrome with ebony flakes.
The flakes in this polish are dense and come out evenly. I also thought the shimmer was more opaque than expected, and flatters the flake combo quite well.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Empress of Wolves and Men will be available for $13 and capped at 200.
I’m a F*ing Queen
I’m a f*ing Queen is described as a yellow to blue pastel multichrome with sapphire flakes.
I’m a f*ing Queen had a smooth and not too thick formula. I didn’t experience any texture when the polish dried after one coat of top coat.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
I’m a f*ing Queen will be available for $13 and capped at 300.
Duskdancer
Duskdancer is described as an aqua to purple pastel multichrome with holo flakes and a scattering of black to red multichrome microflakes.
Duskdancer had a smooth and not too thick formula. I recommend going for medium/thin coats, and to also wrap your tips after every coat. This polish was a standout in the collection for me.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Duskdancer will be available for $13 and capped at 300.
Coldblood
Coldblood is described as a black based polish with aqua to blue shimmer.
Coldblood had a jelly-like formula that was slightly streaky on the first coat. Here, I’d recommend building the polish up in thinner/medium coats, as it deepens the color well. The polish had a more teal leaning shift in some angles than what was photographed.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Coldblood will be available for $11 and capped at 300.
Silversaint
Silversaint is described as a silvery lilac magnetic with gold to green ghost flakes.
Silversaint had an easy magnetic pull, but the base is sheer once magnetized. I thought the polish was quite unique.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Silversaint will be available for $15 and capped at 200.
Those Spiders Have Human Hands (Small Business Saturday LE)
Those Spiders Have Human Hands is described as a pale gray with glowy green shimmer.
This polish had a sheer, jelly-like shimmer formula. I recommend going in for medium-thick coats to build this polish to opacity. Those Spiders Have Human Hands was another standout for me in this collection.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Those Spiders Have Human Hand will be available for $11 and capped at 300.
The Black Lion (Black Friday LE)
The Black Lion is described as a blackened indigo with gold and silver to blue iridescent flakes.
The Black Lion had a jelly base that deepens a lot on the second coat. I still needed three coats to get a fully black base, and the flakes come out with light/medium density. The flake combo is definitely unique and flattering.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
The Black Lion will be available for $12.50 and capped at 200.
Orange You Glad To Be Here Custom
Edith the Witch
Edith the Witch is described as an orange pastel multichrome that shifts from deep red to gold to green with large black to red and gold to green multichrome flakes. It is inspired by a local urban legend of a witch and the pond she cursed. It’s said that the pond turns blood red every spring because of it.
Edith the Witch had a smooth formula. The flakes come out well and lie flat.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Edith the Witch will be available for $13, with the possibility that its ordering could be turned into a preorder if it sells out.
There’s something for everyone here, so I hope you’re able to pick up at least a polish or two! Thanks for reading.
XOXO,
Lauren
