*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*
Hello! Today I’m here with swatches and a review of three polishes that will be available at this month’s Charity Box collab sale.
The Charity Box is a monthly collab that donates a portion of sales to a selected charity of the month. The shop follows a preorder style setup, and this month the shop will be open from October 7th at 12pm CST and end on October 16th at 10pm CST. on the Charity Box site. This month’s theme is Steampunk, and the shop will have a double feature featuring items from September (my blog post linked here) and October.
Without further ado, let’s get into the swatches!
BCB Lacquers: The Past Can Talk To The Future
The Past Can Talk To The Future is described as a black polish with a gunmetal/orange/red/gold shift and holo.
The Past Can Talk To The Future was pretty opaque (almost at full opacity) on the first coat. It had a smooth formula, and the red shift in the polish pops very well. The polish does dry with a little bit of gritty texture, so I recommend putting on a thicker coat of glossy top coat.
Shown is two coats plus two coats of glossy top coat.
The Past Can Talk To The Future will be available for $13 with a cap of 100.
Nailed It: Industrial Icon
Industrial Icon is described as a delicate gray base with a subtle blue tint, a strong copper to gold to green shifting shimmer, and holo flakies.
Industrial Icon had a slightly thicker formula, and it’s so incredibly shifty and elegant. The formula is Nailed It’s classic smooth shimmer formula, and the base is quite opaque even at the first coat. Industrial Icon dries glossy, and the polish is so so stunning, I was blown away.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Industrial Icon will be available for $13 with a cap of 150.
Wildflower Lacquer: A Little Junk in the Steampunk
A Little Junk in the Steampunk is described as a deep maroon base with subtle pink shimmer, holo, and holo flakes.
A Little Junk in the Steampunk was very opaque on the first coat – practically a one coater. The polish dries flat, and I would caution that it might stain because of how opaque the base is. I do recommend using two coats since the polish shows off a lot of depth after the second coat. My swatches make the polish look a little less red/purple than the polish actually is – it sparkles like a gemstone after a glossy top coat.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
A Little Junk in the Steampunk will be available for $13 with a cap of 200.
I hope you’ll be picking some of these beauties up! Thank you for reading.
XOXO,
Lauren
