Hello! In this post I’ll be sharing the Different Dimension Good Vibes collection, releasing Friday, June 11 at 9pm EDT. This collection is a gorgeous five piece featuring two solars and three thermals, and is releasing alongside the Summer Dreamin’ collection.
Polishes will retail for $10 on the Different Dimension site, or for a discounted price if you purchase as a collection. Let’s take a look!
Just Breathe (solar)
Just Breathe is described as a white (indoors) to blue (outdoors) UV reactive polish with purple to pink to gold to green color shifting flakes.
Just Breathe was the only polish where I had a bit of trouble in this collection – I think my problem initially was that I went overboard and too heavy on my coats because I was worried about the milky white opacity. I also accidentally used a UV-protecting top coat the first time I swatched this polish (oops) so I had to reswatch it, and the second time I did I went for thinner coats and had a lot more success with even application. Trust that the polish will level and build up its opacity – going for slightly lighter coats, but doing three coats will give you good coverage. Don’t over-do it, and you should have a lot less difficulty than I did.
Like most thermals and solars, Just Breathe dried a bit flat, so I recommend a glossy top coat.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat, in indoor lighting and with a UV flashlight. The polish was so incredibly fast at reacting, my nails didn’t stay long enough in the “outdoor” state for me to get a clean full-blue shot with the flashlight. This is great though – it means it’ll be super fast at reacting for you too!
All Is Well (solar)
All Is Well is described as a light blue (indoors) to purple (outdoors) UV reactive polish with green to orange to pink to gold color shifting flakies and holographic micro-flakies.
All Is Well had a great formula, and the base is quite opaque for a light blue. The flakes in All is Well all lie flat, and compliment the polish beautifully. Like Just Breathe, All is Well dries a bit flat, so I recommend a glossy top coat.
The UV reactive properties for this polish were also incredibly fast. It’s worth noting that again, I used a UV flashlight to activate the transition, so depending on how strong the UV rays are in your outdoor environment, the transition may be weaker than what you see (i.e. less strongly purple).
Shown is three coats with glossy top coat, in indoor lighting and with a UV flashlight.
Be Kind (thermal)
Be Kind is described as a violet (cold) to bright pink (warm) thermal with blue to green to violet color shifting flakies.
Be Kind was the most opaque of the thermals for me, and I think like all the others in this collection the flakies contrasted the base really well. Something must have been up with my lighting setup on this day, because the polishes showed up as less bright and vibrant than they are in person (especially for the warm state). Be Kind dries a bit flat, so I recommend a glossy top coat.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Sunny Days Ahead (thermal)
Sunny Days Ahead is described as a bright yellow (cold) to light yellow (warm) thermal polish with gold to pink to green iridescent color shifting flakies.
Sunny Days Ahead had a great formula, and transitioned very well. I thought I would have trouble discerning the thermal color differences, but I think the changes are quite stark in person. I forgot to take transition shots for this polish, but it does capture sunny summer days very well! Like most thermals, Sunny Days Ahead dries a bit flat so I recommend a glossy top coat. The flakes do sparkle gorgeously with the thermal jelly base.
Shown is three coat plus glossy top coat.
Good Vibes (thermal)
Good Vibes is described as a bright turquoise (cold) to grey (warm) thermal polish with gold to orange to pink to green color shifting flakies and holographic microflakies.
Good Vibes was my absolute favorite from the collection. It had a great formula, but I think I just really loved the warm state for this polish. The light clear base with the flakes is just so stunning, and the state colors are perfect for summer. It reminds me of a cool glass of water in the middle of summer, and I think it channels the “good vibes” phrase perfectly. You do see a bit of nail line in the warm state, but that’s largely because of the shade itself being somewhat transparent, and the flakes hide the nail line quite well in my opinion.
Shown is three coats with glossy top coat.
To recap, the Good Vibes collection goes live on the Different Dimension site on June 11 at 9pm ET. Polishes will be available for $10 individually, or discounted as a collection set. The Summer Dreamin’ collection is also releasing with this collection.
