*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*
Hello! I’m so so delayed with posting this post, but I have swatches of the two 7th Anniversary trios from Hella Handmade Creations!
First off, a huge congratulations to HHC for hitting this amazing milestone! HHC is a monthly collaborative shop where makers release items, typically polish, around a theme of their choosing. There are so many amazing makers that partner with HHC during their monthly shops, and I know I’ve been able to get some of my favorite polishes through HHC.
These anniversary trios are currently available exclusively through giveaways hosted by HHC in the Hella Handmade Creations Afterparty Facebook group. Giveaways have been happening, and will continue happening through the end of February. After February, if there is enough interest, both brands have agreed to make plans to release these polishes in the Hella Handmade Creations online store at a later date. Regardless, be sure to join the group for your chance to win!
The two trios this year have been created by Atomic Polish and Swamp Gloss. Let’s take a look!
Atomic Polish
Kohala
Kohala is described as a deep pink base with shimmer that shifts gold to red and purple micro glitter.
Kohala had a very opaque and smooth jelly formula. The formula was even and self-leveling – my first time working with Atomic Polish, and the formulas were wonderful!
Shown is two coats plus two coats of glossy top coat.
Holo Holo
Holo Holo is described as a deep blue base filled with pigment that shifts aqua blue to navy blue as well as micro holographic pigment.
Holo Holo had a smooth and even formula, and the polish dries flat.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Āwikiwiki
Āwikiwiki is described as a deep purple base with aurora pigment and iridescent flakes that shift green to gold to red.
Āwikiwiki had a smooth jelly base. Its flakes are light in density, and overall two coats would be fine for opacity barring a couple patchy spots.
Shown is three coats for glossy top coat.
Swamp Gloss
Aloha Nui Loa
Aloha Nui Loa is described as a greigey base with orange undertones with holographic pigments and pink-orange-gold shifting shimmer.
Aloha Nui Loa had a jelly-like formula that was smooth and easy to work with. I recommend using this polish as a topper, as it is quite sheer.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat on its own (index and middle) and over a white blurring base coat (ring and pinky).
Pokai Bay
Pokai Bay is described as a sheer turquoise base packed with blue/indigo Aurora and turquoise metallic flakes.
Pokai Bay had a smooth and even jelly-like formula. Its metallic flakes are medium in density and evenly dispersed.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Malama
Malama is described as a blue heavy blurple with subtle shimmer and stacked with red and blue holographic micro glitters, red metallic flakes and iridescent shifting flakes.
Malama had a smooth and even formula, and its flakes were high in density. The polish dries a bit gritty/flat because of all the flakes, and while two coats was fine for opacity I thought three flattered and deepened the color a lot more.
I personally thought this base and glitter/flakie mix was quite unique.
Show is three coats plus glossy top coat.
That’s it for these beauties! Again, be sure to head over to the Hella Handmade Creations Afterparty Facebook group to participate in the giveaways. Congratulations again to Hella Handmade Creations on their 7th anniversary!
XOXO,
Lauren
