Hello hello, and welcome to another stunning collection review! In this post I’ll be going over the Book Club collection by Nailed It!, which releases on August 15 at 5pm ET on the Nailed It! site.
Polishes in the Book Club collection will retail for $13 individually or $62.50 for the full collection, and the Nailed It! shop will be open for unlimited preorder until August 21. Afterwards, only limited quantities of this collection’s polishes will be available to purchase.
All of these polishes were inspired by popular children’s books, and they all nail their inspirations perfectly. This is such a gorgeous and ethereal set – perfect for all seasons! Let’s get into it.
Just A Little Love
Just A Little Love is described as a pale aqua base with a strong pink to gold shifting shimmer. Its inspiration comes from the book Just A Little Love by Mercer Mayer.
Just A Little Love had a slightly thicker formula, but it wasn’t too hard to work with or too thick on the buildup either. It self levels well, and I recommend going thinner with your layers to build it up and prevent your nail line from peeking through. The shift on this polish is insanely pretty – in the shade and in indirect lighting, the shimmer pops so well.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Slumber Party
Slumber Party is described as a pale periwinkle base with a strong gold to green shifting shimmer. It’s inspired by the book Slumber Party from the Berenstain Bears series.
Slumber Party had a very smooth and opaque formula that also self leveled well. The shimmer on this polish is outstanding too, and I’m in love with the soft and delicate look that this polish gives.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is described as a minty spring green base with a strong red to gold shifting shimmer. Its inspiration comes from The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
The Giving Tree had a slightly heavier/thicker formula, but again was smooth and easy to work with. I didn’t have any issues with running or pooling, and I think the slightly thicker formula leads to better opacity in less coats.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
The Rainbow Fish
The Rainbow Fish is described as a blue base with a strong gold to green shifting shimmer, holo flakies, and a subtle scattered holo. It’s inspired by The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.
The Rainbow Fish had a different finish than all the other polishes in this collection, and its formula was more on the lightweight side in comparison. Its formula was very smooth and easy to work with, and the glow on this polish is stunning. Be sure to swipe through my swatch carousel for a glow shot!
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Where The Wild Things Are
Where The Wild Things Are is described as a pale gray base with a strong red to gold shifting shimmer. It is inspired by its namesake book by Maruice Sendak.
Where The Wild Things Are also had the slightly heavier shimmer formula, but again was smooth and easy to build up. It had the slightest hint of nail line at two coats so I went for three, but if were wearing it for non-swatching purposes I would probably stop at two coats. I seriously love Nailed It’s shimmer polishes so much – they all glow gorgeously and give off such an elegant vibe.
For those that love There’s A Nap For That (a previous PPU polish from Nailed It with a similar base) like me and wanted to note the differences between Where The Wild Things Are and it, the polishes have different shimmer tones – Where The Wild Things Are has a more orange/yellow gold shimmer shift, and There’s A Nap For That has a more bright pink/gold shimmer shift. The primary warm tone shifts are different, and the difference is also apparent in the bottles.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
I hope you pick up some of these gorgeous polishes! Let me know which ones you’re eyeing, and thanks for reading.
XOXO,
Lauren

I’m still mad at myself for not buying The Giving Tree! Fingers crossed that I’ll stumble on it in a destash someday 🤞.
