Hello all – long time no see! I took a break from posting on this blog due to everything in my personal life taking up more of my capacity, and am hoping to ease back into a regular blogging cadence.
With that, let’s start with the September 2022 Polish Pickup! This month’s theme is Scary Vibes, and the shop is open on the Polish Pickup site from now until September 5. I have 19 polishes and 3 IPU items to share – my biggest PPU post to date! Let’s get into it.
Atomic Polish: Creepy Paper
Creepy Paper is described as a blurple based flakie shimmer polish with iridescent flakes that shift from green to blue and aurora pigment that shifts aqua to blue to purple. It is inspired by Nandor from What We Do In The Shadows creepy crepe paper.
Creepy Paper had a smooth and even formula. The flakes blend in with the base.

BCB Lacquers: Sirens Cove
Sirens Cove is described as an ultramarine blue with black, teal and rose gold metallic flakes. It is inspired by fan art of a siren.
Sirens Cove had a smooth and even formula that is slightly thicker from all the flakes. The flakes are dense and flat.

BCB Lacquers: Cuticle Oil in Candy Cornoner
BCB Lacquers also brings us an oil that smells exactly like candy corns! With scent notes of: Sweet Vanilla, Marshmallow, Light Buttery Caramel. The cuticle oil is in a 9mL container with a doe foot applicator and a teal metallic cap.
The oil is available for $9.50 with a cap of 75.
Bees Knees Lacquer: Ghost or Grandma?
Ghost or Grandma is described as a ghostly and grungy pale green with glowy blue shimmer.
There is a Korean urban legend that if you go to sleep with the AC or fan on, you won’t wake up. This polish is inspired by all the times Sarah, the maker, stayed at her grandmother’s, and woke up in the middle of the night to see a shadow creeping through her room to turn her fan off, having no idea if it was a ghost or her grandmother.
(as a fellow Korean, this is a myth that I believe and live by to this day😅)

Cupcake Polish: Say My Name
Say My Name is described as an indigo purple nail polish filled with green to blue aurora shimmer and silver reflective glitter. It is inspired by Beetlejuice.
Say My Name had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling and dries gritty.

Dainty Digits Lacquer: Cute Little Son of a Witch
Cute Little Son of a Witch is described as a black base with purple to green shifting shimmer and healthy dose of reflective powder to mimic the bright headlights of cars when trick or treating.
Cute Little Son of a Witch had a slightly thicker and more viscous formula that is self-leveling.

Dam Nail Polish: Don’t Go in There. It’s Haunted AF.
Don’t Go in There. It’s Haunted AF. is described as a green based shimmer with shifts of red, orange, gold, and green. It is inspired by an eerie haunted house with evil pumpkin guards.
Don’t Go in There. It’s Haunted AF. had a smooth jelly formula that is squishy.

Dreamland Lacquer: Final Girl
Final Girl is described as a murky, moody tempest of a polish, a murky dark grey / black when cold, and a deep blue/purple when warm, filled with blue to purple iridescent flakes. It is inspired by the first and best final girl, Laurie Strode from Halloween!
Final Girl had a smooth jelly base where the flakes were dense and flat, and the polish dries flat.

Fair Maiden: Camp Crystal Lake
Camp Crystal Lake is described as a bright neon pink with icy shimmer packed in that goes green-aqua-violet. It is inspired by a neon retro horror art piece of Friday the 13th.
Camp Crystal Lake had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling. It had a really nice formula that’s quite opaque for a neon shimmer.

Glisten & Glow: Reaper’s Revenge
Reaper’s Revenge is described as a vampy mulberry jelly polish loaded with color shifting iridescent flakes that shift from blue/purple/pink/red. It is inspired by the renowned 65 acre Halloween haunted hayride and walk thru called Reaper’s Revenge.

Jen & Berries: You’re Living in a Vacuum
You’re Living in a Vacuum is described as a dark grey crelly with blue shimmer. It is inspired by the scariest thing in the world to Jenny’s, the maker’s, dogs…her Dyson vacuum cleaner.
You’re Living in a Vacuum had a smooth and sheerer formula. Two coats had some slightly balder spots so I went for three.

Kathleen & Co: The Graveyard Shift
The Graveyard Shift is described as a deep purple base with vampy red/gold shimmer with a ghostly blue magnetic pull that shifts to purple and pink. It is inspired by a scary graveyard in a video game.
The Graveyard Shift had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling. The magnetic effect is easy and fast.

Nailed It: Hail To The King
Hail To The King is described as a smoky purple base withblue/purple Ucc Flakies, red/gold UCC flakies and red/gold crystal flakies. It is inspired by Lucifer from Supernatural.
Hail To The King had a thicker and chunkier formula due to all the flakes. Its formula lies thick on the nail.

Night Owl Lacquer: Magic Potion
Magic Potion is described as a deep purple glowing with green/fuschia/red shimmer and black/red multichrome micro flakies. It is inspired by making potions.

Paint It Pretty Polish: Life’s No Fun Without A Good Scare
Life’s No Fun Without A Good Scare is described as a dark purple jelly polish, filled with glowing iridescent flakes in red, orange, yellow, and green. It is inspired by the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Towards The Light is described as a deep purple base with gold metallic iridescent flakes and black flakes. It is inspired by Moonlit Forest.

Red Eyed Lacquer: I’m Crackers About Cheese
I’m Crackers About Cheese is described as a dusty dark blue jelly with green/gold/orange crystal flakies and black flakes. It is inspired by Wallace and Gromit.
I’m Crackers About Cheese had a smooth and slightly thinner jelly base. Its flakes were flat and even. Two coats was good but three had more depth.

Red Eyed Lacquer: Cuticle Oil in Apple Of My Pumpkin Pie
Red Eyed Lacquer brings us a click brush cuticle oil pen scented in a house blend of pumpkins, apples and baked pie crust. It is inspired by apple pumpkin pie.
The oil is available for $5.50 with a cap of 100.
Rogue Lacquer: Jack
Jack is described as a blue leaning purple with orange to red to gold glass flake and holo flakes. Jack is inspired by Jack from animal crossing, who appears during the Halloween season.
Jack had a smooth and even formula that was slightly thicker due to all the flakes.

Wildflower Lacquer: Ghostly Good Time
Ghostly Good Time is described as a purple jelly base packed with red to gold to green crystal flakes, pink to orange to purple crystal flakes, and aqua to green to purple crystal flakes. It is inspired by 90’s Lisa Frank Halloween art.
Ghostly Good Time had a smooth formula that was dense with flakes. The flakes all laid flat on the nail.

Zombie Claw Polish: Ghoulish Guests Welcome
Ghoulish Guests Welcome is described as a grey base with black to red flakies. It is inspired by a picture of a beautiful black and white castle.
