Hello! I’m excited to be writing my first blog post featuring Rogue Lacquer. In this post I’ll be featuring a new trio and duo that are debuting at the Polish and Beauty Expo this weekend. Also debuting at the Expo is Rogue’s Summer 2021 collection, a set of 5 neon crellies. I have the blog post for that collection here.
The Nashville Trio is a special Nashville set for the Expo, inspired by foods. Leftover stock of the trio will be available on the Rogue Lacquer site after the Expo. Prices for the trio are $11 each or $30 for the set.
The Friends Duo is a set dedicated to all the friends that kept each other sane during the last year, and are finally being able to come together. Prices are $12 each, and both polishes will be available on the Rogue Lacquer site after the Expo.
I think that’s it for the details! Let’s get into the polishes.
Nashville Trio
Nashville Hot
Nashville Hot is described as a Nashville hot chicken inspired burnt orange toned red with red/copper metallic and black flakes.
Nashville Hot had an incredibly smooth and easy formula. The flakes come out easily and evenly, and the polish definitely reminds me of hot sauce. Overall, this trio has a very condiment-y feel, which I thought was super fun!
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Kicking It With A Cold One
Kicking it with a cold one is described as a beer inspired golden yellow with gold metallic flakes.
Kicking it with a cold one had a super smooth crelly formula, and the flakes in it come out quite easily and evenly. At two coats I had some nail line peeking through, but with shorter nails you can probably get away with two coats. This polish is a really unique shade of yellow that I don’t think I have yet in my collection.
Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.
Pickled
Pickled is described as a dill pickle inspired green with light green flakes
Pickled, like the others in this trio, had a very smooth and easy formula. I probably could have gotten away with two coats of this polish, but I think three gave a more squishy look. Based on the photos on my screen, I think the polish leans a bit more yellow toned in person, and the flakes are much more evident in person as well.

Friends Duo
Country Capital & Best Friends
Country Capital & Best Friends is described as a bleached pink with golden and pink shimmer, soft holo flame and holo flakes.
Country Capital & Best Friends is, in my opinion, an absolutely stunning polish. The base is such a gorgeous tone of pink, and the shimmer and flakes pair so well. The formula was amazing too, and it leans a bit more on the thicker side comparatively. Be sure to swipe through the carousel to see the shifts!
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Un-breakable
Un-breakable is described as a blurple holo jelly with a rainbow of color shifting flakes and silver flecks.
The formula on Un-breakable was easy to work with, and not too thick either. I had the slightest bit of nail line at two coats so I went with three, but I also think three coats builds up the flakes better.
