Hello! I’m back with my second Rogue Lacquer post, this time featuring their Summer 2021 collection. This is a five piece collection that is debuting at the Polish and Beauty Expo this weekend, and will then be available on the Rogue Lacquer site. Polishes in the Summer 2021 collection will retail for $10.50 each, or for $10 at the Polish and Beauty Expo. The polishes were named and inspired by 80’s/90’s neon vibes. Let’s get into it!
As If
As If is described as a neon pink cream with black flakes.
As If was so incredibly opaque on the first coat, the crelly was almost a one coater (which is insane, at least for me). The formula is very smooth and not too thick, but the flakes do give the slightest bit of texture. As If dries pretty flat, likely from the flakes and neon base, so I recommend topping it with a coat of glossy top coat.
Shown is two coats plus two coats of glossy top coat. My first coat of top coat was a little thin, which is why I went with a second one, but others will probably be fine with one slightly thicker coat of top coat.
Hot Girl Summer
Hot Girl Summer is described as a neon coral with black flakes.
Hot Girl Summer also had a nicely opaque formula, although slightly less opaque than As If. The formula was smooth and easy to work with, and I’m in love with the name. Comparatively, the density of the black flakes was lower in my swatches of this polish, but that’s probably related to how polished.

Neon Lights
Neon Lights is described as a vibrant neon yellow with black flakes.
Neon Lights was another stunningly opaque polish – almost a one coater here as well. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Neon Lights – I’m normally someone that shies away from yellows (especially neon yellows), but I thought it was quite flattering on my skin tone. I think the cool-toned neon yellow base will probably compliment many skin tones, especially warmer ones.

Dancing Free
Dancing Free is described as a neon green with black flakes.
Another well formula-ed polish here! Dancing Free had a super smooth and opaque formula, and the base color leans a bit more yellow than my photos show.

Physical
Physical is described as a bright neon blue with black flakes.
Physical, like the others in this collection, had a wonderful formula. Even application of flakes, no need for fishing, and an easily opaque base.

Overall, I thought this was a super unique and fun collection. I haven’t seen very many polishes – if at all – that primarily feature black flakes, and the neon bases make this collection perfect for summer.
