Hella Handmade Creations: March 2022

*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*

Hello! It’s time for my monthly HHC post! HHC is a monthly collaborative shop where makers contribute a product (usually polish) that follows a theme of their choosing. The sale will go live on the HHC site from March 14-21.

This month, I also have a bonus Mother’s Day themed set from BCB Lacquers. Multiple makers have offered Mother’s Day bundles for this month’s shop, so be sure to check those out too! Let’s get into it.

BCB Lacquers: Mother’s Day Set

BCB Lacquers is bringing us a Mother’s Day set featuring two polishes – Is This The Real Life? and Is This Just Fantasy?. Each order will also come with a flower sticker and a sun or moon charm that will be picked at random – very cute!

The two polishes are inspired by Tulips and Queen. Bundles will be available for $26 with a cap of 100.

Is This The Real Life?

Is This The Real Life? is described as a linear holo with a strong violet shift.

Is This The Real Life? had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling. The shimmer is really strong and gorgeous.

I loved this polish so much, I was inspired to do some floral nail art for it! Enjoy the bonus nail art.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Is This Just Fantasy?

Is This Just Fantasy? is described as a multi-chrome flakie topper shifting between purple/pink/red/orange.

Is This Just Fantasy? had a smooth and even formula, with a slightly thicker jelly base.

Shown is one coat over a white creme and Is This The Real Life?, followed by three coats on its own.

BCB Lacquers: Fools!

Fools! is described as a dark purple polish with a green magnetic pull, holo flakes, green/blue and pink/orange flakes. It is inspired by Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and is the next in their Disney Villains series.

Fools! had a slightly thicker formula, but it applied very smoothly and evenly. The magnetic effect is really strong and easy to trigger, and the crystal flakie mix in this polish pairs so so well with the base and magnetic effect.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Fools! will be available for $13 with a cap of 150.

Cupcake Polish: Monica

Monica is described as a periwinkle blue nail polish filled with blue/purple/pink shifting aurora shimmer and holographic flakies. It inspired by its namesake Monica, and is the next polish in their Wandavision series.

Monica had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Monica will be available for $13 with no cap.

Cuticula: Naydra’s Scales

Naydra’s Scales is described as a deep blue base full of green/blue/purple shifting shimmer and silver holographic flakes shining throughout. It is the next polish in their Video Games series.

Naydra’s Scales had a very smooth and even formula. The shimmer here practically glows when paired with this blue base.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Naydra’s Scales will be available for $13 with no cap.

Kathleen & Co: Horsehead Nebula

Horsehead Nebula is described as a purple to red shimmer polish in a fuschia base with holo flecks. It is the next polish in their In A Galaxy Far Far Away series.

Horsehead Nebula had a smooth and slightly thinner formula. It is also a warmer purple than you see in my photos.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Horsehead Nebula will be available for $13 with a cap of 175.

Lilypad Lacquer: It’s Only Natural

It’s Only Natural is described as a creamy chocolate brown crelly with green/pink/gold/teal multichrome flakes. It is the next polish in their Color Therapy series, and is inspired by the color brown.

It’s Only Natural had a smooth and even formula. The flakes are light in density inside the polish.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

It’s Only Natural will be available for $14 with a cap of 50.

Nailed It: Will-O-Wisp

Will-O-Wisp is described as a subtle gray tinted holo with a teal to blue to purple shifting shimmer and holo flakies. It is the next polish in their Pokemon series, and is inspired by Litwick.

Will-O-Wisp had a smooth and even formula that was self-leveling.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Will-O-Wisp will be available for $13 with a cap of 200.

Red Eyed Lacquer: Reptiglow

Reptiglow is described as a blurple crelly with green shifting shimmer and a blurple glow. It is the next polish in their Bioluminescent Animals series.

Reptiglow had a smooth and even jelly base. It is a sheerer jelly formula that self-levels well.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Red Eyed Lacquer: Da Balmer in Under My Tiny Umbrella

Under My Tiny Umbrella is described as a tropical blend blood oranges, sweet pineapples, mandarin, a hint of cherry, a dash of effervescence and a hint of vanilla.

Da Balmer is a body balm you can use to moisturize dry areas of skin. I use it a lot on my cuticles, hands, elbows, and anywhere else that needs some moisture support!

Da Balmer in Under My Tiny Umbrella will be available for $7.50 for a 1oz jar, with a cap of 50.

Rogue Lacquer: Flotsam! Jetsam!

Flotsam! Jetsam! is described as an aqua green with scattered holo and holo flakes with a sea green shimmer and silver reflective glitter. It is the next polish in their The Little Mermaid series.

Flotsam! Jetsam! had a super smooth and even formula. I had some visible nail line peeking through at two coats so I went for three. The polish is a bit less blue than in my swatches, and it dries flat.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this polish was a reflective glitter polish until after I took it off, so I don’t have any flash photos of this one.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Flotsam! Jetsam! will be available for $12.50 with no cap.

There’s a great variety of items to choose from this month! Let me know what you think you’ll be getting.

XOXO,

Lauren
