Paint it Pretty Polish: Summer Shimmers & August PPOTM

*Disclosure: PR samples- I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*

Hello! I’m excited to be sharing my first blog post featuring Paint it Pretty Polish. Paint it Pretty Polish is an indie polish brand based in Canada, and they are 5-free, vegan, and cruelty free. This post will feature their upcoming Summer Shimmers trio and August Pretty Polish of the Month.

The Summer Shimmers trio will launch on July 30 in the Paint it Pretty shop, and the August PPOTM, Tiger Swirl, will be available from August 1 – Sept 1. All four polishes will retail for $11.50 CAD (~$9.14 USD).

That’s it for the details, so let’s get into the swatches!

Summer Shimmers

Tangy Glow

Tangy Glow is described as a buildable translucent raspberry base packed with aurora multi chrome shimmer that shifts from copper, orange, gold and even elusive green. It’s sunset in a bottle that can be worn alone or over black/white for a completely different look.

Tangy Glow had a great formula that builds up well and leans jelly-like. It’s quite smooth and self-levels well, and the shimmer is stunning. Click through the swatch carousel to see all the shifts!

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

Dreamy Sea

Dreamy Sea is described as a sheer sapphire blue base with multichrome shimmer that flashes of green, copper, and gold throughout. Dreamy Sea can be worn alone or wear over black/white for a different effect.

Dreamy Sea had a great formula that was self-leveling and left behind minimal to no brush strokes. I had the slightest bit of nail line after two coats, so I went for three. The formula is jelly-like, and the shimmer in this one is phenomenal as well. Click through the swatch carousel to see all the shifts!

Golden Days

Golden Days is described as a sheer lilac base with an ethereal pink aurora shimmer that shifts magenta, peach, coral, and hot pink with flashes of copper, gold and the elusive green. Golden Days can be worn on its own or over black polish to emphasize the extra flashes.

Golden Days was the most sheer of the four polishes – even with three/four coats per nail, you could still see my nail line. For some of the nails I went for four coats since I went in pretty thin, while the others are three coats since I went with slightly thicker coats. The shift on this one is gorgeous though, and I think pairing it with a nail line blurring base will give it great opacity. Click through the swatch carousel to see all the shifts!

Tiger Swirl

Tiger Swirl is described as a bright neon orange base with black glitters in an assortment if shapes and sizes.

Tiger Swirl was super opaque on the first coat, which I thought was really impressive since it has a bright neon orange base. The neon effect is blindingly gorgeous, and the glitters in the polish come out really easily and evenly. I thought this polish was so fun and perfect for summer or Halloween.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Will you be picking any of these beauties up? Let me know, and thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Lauren
