Nailed It: Howl’s Moving Castle Collection

*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*

Hello! In this post I’ll be sharing five gorgeous flakie polishes that are releasing in the next Studio Ghibli inspired collection by Nailed It! These five polishes are inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle, one of my favorite films ever, and I could not be more excited to share these with you. Any other Ghibli and Howl fans out there?

The Howl’s Moving Castle collection will be open for preorder from May 15 to May 20. Polishes will be available for $13 individually or $62 for the set on the Nailed It site.

Let’s get into it!

My Regards To Howl

My Regards To Howl is described as a fuchsia base packed with red/gold and blue/purple crystal flakies.

My Regards To Howl had an opaque jelly base with flakes that were densely packed and flat on the nail.

Shown is two coats plus two coats of glossy top coat. In general, you can get away with one coat of glossy top coat for all of these polishes initially, but after a while you will want a second coat of top coat for a smooth-to-the-touch finish.

The Best Blaze Burns Brightest

The Best Blaze Burns Brightest is described as a teal base packed with gold/green and copper/gold crystal flakies.

The Best Blaze Burns Brightest had a smooth and flake-dense formula. The flakes were flat and even, although I did go for three coats (compared to two coats for all the other polishes) because I had some visible nail line at two coats.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat.

May All Your Bacon Burn

May All Your Bacon Burn is described as a bright red base packed with red/green and copper/gold crystal flakies.

May All Your Bacon Burn had a smooth and opaque jelly formula. Its flakes were flat and dense, and the red is quite fiery in person.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

You Saved Me

You Saved Me is described as a deep blue base packed with blue/purple and pink/gold crystal flakies.

You Saved Me had a slightly thicker flakie formula. The flakes are dense but do blend in a little bit with the deep blue base.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Turnip Head

Turnip Head is described as a purple base packed with blue/purple and copper/gold crystal flakies.

Turnip Head had a smooth and opaque formula, with flakes that laid flat and dense.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.

Are you as excited for this collection as I am? Let me know which ones you’ll be picking up, and thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Lauren
