*Disclosure: Press samples – I received these polishes for free in exchange for swatch photography. All reviews and opinions are my own.*
Hello! I’m super excited to be sharing swatches of the Once Upon A Dream collection by Polished for Days! The Once Upon A Dream collection releases on Saturday, March 12 at 11am PT on the Polished for Days website. Polishes will be available for $91 as a set or $13 individually, with a discounted collection price of $86 (plus free shipping!) for the first 48 hours.
The collection is inspired by Disney Princesses, and has a mix of shimmers, reflective polishes, and flakies! I’m in love with this color palette, and I hope you love them too. Let’s get into it!
Watch and You’ll Sea
Watch and You’ll Sea is described as a red jewel toned jelly base packed with pink-gold-green iridescent shifting flakes and sparkling bright red reflective micro glitter. It is inspired by Ariel and is a reflective sister polish to Sea-ing is Believing.
Watch and You’ll Sea had a smooth and even formula that dried gritty from the reflective glitters.
Shown is two coats plus two coats of glossy top coat, first in normal studio lighting and then with flash.
Floating Lights
Floating Lights is described as a dusty mauve crelly with pink-yellow-green iridescent shifting flakes and sparkling silver reflective micro glitters. It is inspired by Rapunzel and the floating lights scene in Tangled.
Floating Lights had a smooth and even formula, that also dries gritty and flat due to the reflective glitters. I had the slightest hint of visible nail line at two coats, so I went for three.
Shown is three coats plus a glitter grabbing top coat and glossy top coat, first in normal studio lighting and then with flash.
Tale As Old As Time
Tale As Old As Time is described as a bright yellow base a gold-green iridescent shifting micro flake shimmer. It is inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Tale As Old As Time had a smooth and opaque formula that dried with almost a foil-like finish. The orange/gold shift in this polish is a more apparent in person.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Almost There
Almost There is described as a lime green base with a gold-green-blue iridescent shifting micro flake shimmer and holo micro flakes. It is inspired by Tiana.
Almost There had a smooth and opaque formula that was even. The formula lies a bit on the thicker side, but barely so.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
It’s All So Magical
It’s All So Magical is described as an aqua crelly base with gold iridescent metallic flakes and black matte flakes. It is inspired by Jasmine.
It’s All So Magical had a smooth and even formula, and its flakes were highly dense and flat. Some might need two coats of top coat for this polish, and I thought this was a really flattering combination of base color and flakes.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Once Upon A Dream
Once Upon A Dream is described as a periwinkle base with a pink-orange-yellow-green shifting iridescent shimmer and holographic flakes. It is inspired by Aurora in Sleeping Beauty.
Once Upon A Dream had a smooth and even formula. The polish dried a bit flat, but the polish was quite opaque overall.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Just Around the Riverbend
Just Around the Riverbend is described as a blue toned grey base packed with purple-pink-orange shimmer and holographic flakes. It is inspired by Pocahontas.
Just Around the Riverbend had a smooth and even formula that also dried a bit flat.
Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat.
Soft Focus Base Coat: Briar Rose
Also releasing at the same time is the next polish in Polished for Days’ Soft Focus base coat line – Briar Rose, a pink version of the Soft Focus Basecoat. This can be built up to be opaque or be a beautiful base for toppers or use one coat under any polish to blur your nail line.
While this will be flattering on a lot of skin tones, it will work especially great for pink undertones.
Shown is one coat on my index and middle fingers, and two coats on my ring and pinky fingers.
So many gorgeous polishes here! Let me know which ones you’ll be picking up, and thanks for reading!
XOXO,
Lauren
